MILLBURN, NJ - In the wake of the Parkland school shooting in Florida, a request went out on the popular Millburn Workmom listserv for handmade cards to send to the students and faculty at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Two Millburn sisters answered the call in a big way. Millburn High School juniors Rayna and Hallie Katzman designed a banner to show support for the grieving community.
Rayna said, "We created this design using meaningful phrases and images of people holding hands in a chain to demonstrate community, connection and strength."
Her sister Hallie added, "We had wanted to do something to show our support for the community in Parkland. This opportunity allowed us to let them know that people from Millburn care, stand with them and believe that change will come.”
The 2' by 6' banner is being printed at Arsenal New York, a private company owned by Short Hills residents Cara and Mike Behar.
