Millburn Police Department Investigating Theft at Millburn Library

On April 11, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Shanahan responded to the Sunglass Hut store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Sunglass Hut personnel report a black male wearing a grey shirt, grey shorts, and blue sandals concealed a pair of Gucci sunglasses valued at $385.00 in his shorts pocket and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 12, 2017 Millburn Police Officers Nacim and Manuyag responded to Rt 24 West/Hobart Gap Rd on a report of a possible unconscious male in a BMW on the shoulder. The driver, 25 year old James Leiva out of Pompton Lakes, states he was tired and pulled over to go to sleep. Mr. Leiva was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana), and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Leiva was placed under arrest and issued a summons before being released.

On April 13, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Barbosa responded to Neiman Marcus on a theft report. Neiman Marcus personnel report a black male wearing a black baseball cap, red leather jacket, and dark Adidas sweat pants took 3 handbags valued at $1985.00 and ran out of the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 13, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Marone responded to the Jimmy Cho store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Jimmy Cho personnel report a black male with long hair took 2 pairs of shoes valued at $1990.00 on April 12, 2017, concealed them in a bag,  and left the store without making payment.  The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 13, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Kostovski responded to Bloomingdales on a credit card fraud report. Bloomingdales personnel report 24 year old Devante Perry out of Newark attempted to pick up merchandise that was fraudulently purchased. Mr. Perry was found to have outstanding criminal warrants out of Bloomfield and Newark and was placed under arrest. Isaiah Spikes, age 19 out of Trenton, who accompanied Mr. Perry was also found to have an outstanding criminal warrant out of Hamilton Township and was placed under arrest. Both individuals were released with new court dates.

On April 14, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Kostovski responded to the Prada store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report that occurred on April 12, 2017. Prada personnel report a black male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers took a handbag valued at $1490.00 and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 17, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Salemi responded to the Newark Police Department on a warrant arrest. Janeal Ferguson, age 31 out of Union, was placed under arrest on an outstanding Millburn criminal warrant and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On April 17, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Salemi responded to Neiman Marcus on a theft report. Neiman Marcus personnel report a black female wearing a pink shirt and pink sneakers took 5 backpacks valued at $3290.00 and ran out of the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 17, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Laverty responded to the Millburn Library on a theft report. The resident reports between 7:00 am – 2:54 pm unknown actor/s took his Trek 3500 bicycle valued at $700.00 which was locked to the bicycle rack. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On June 13, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Nacim stopped a 2000 Toyota Camry at Essex/Lackawanna for being unregistered and having a brake light out. The 21 year old driver, Tyre Graves out of Irvington, was placed under arrest on an outstanding Irvington criminal warrant.  Mr. Graves was issued summonses and turned over to the Irvington Police Department.
