Millburn Police Investigating a Series of Motor Vehicle Thefts and Burglaries

On August 15, 2017 Millburn Police Officer McMillan responded to Petsmart on a theft report. Petsmart personnel report 28 year old employee Victoria Owusu out of Jersey City took $740.00 in cash over the last month from her register. Ms. Owusu was placed under arrest and charged with theft before being released on a summons. 

On August 15, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Laverty stopped a 2003 Nissan Xterra at 187 Millburn Ave after being notified the registration was suspended and expired. The investigation led to the arrest of the 24 year old driver Andrew Sheridan out of Mendham for an outstanding traffic warrant out of Mendham and for driving while suspended. Mr. Sheridan was issued summonses and released with a new court date.

On August 16, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Wichelns stopped a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer on White Oak Ridge/Hartshorn for speeding and failing to maintain a lane. The investigation led to the arrest of 19 year old Alexis Aguilar out of Jersey City and a 17 year old male out of Jersey City for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). Both individuals were released with a summons.

On August 16, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Zonn responded to a Norwood Terrace residence on a burglary to motor vehicle report. The resident reports sometime overnight unknown actor/s entered her 2003 Honda Accord and 2011 Ford Fusion parked in the driveway taking a GPS, lunch box, phone charger, and $10.00 in change. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 17, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Manuyag responded to the Sephora store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Sephora personnel report 34 year old Ting Qi out of Elizabeth concealed 9 articles valued at $295.00 in a bag and left the store without making payment. Ms. Qi was also found to be in possession of a stolen pair of shoes valued at $120.00 from Macys. Ms. Qi was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting and receiving stolen property before being released on a summons.

On August 18, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Catinella responded to a Minnisink residence on a burglary to vehicle report. A contractor reports sometime overnight unknown actor/s entered his trailer parked in a customer’s driveway and took a Stihl saw and backpack blower valued at $2150.00. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 19, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Smeraldo responded to a Talbot Court residence on a motor vehicle theft report. The resident reports sometime overnight unknown actor/s took her 2017 Audi A7 from the driveway. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 19, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Smeraldo responded to a Wildwood Drive residence on two attempted burglary to motor vehicle reports. The resident reports sometime overnight unknown actor/s damaged the driver side door handles on a 2004 BMW M3 and 2013 Ford Flex parked in the driveway. Entry was not gained. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 19, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to the Tory Burch store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Tory Burch personnel report a bald black male wearing a brown shirt and blue jeans concealed 4 watches valued at $1050.00 and left the store without making payment.  The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On August 19, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to the Apple store on a suspicious person report. Shamar Brown, age 25 out of Newark, was located and found to have active traffic warrants out of Newark and an active criminal warrant out of Irvington. Mr. Brown was placed under arrest and given a summons for hindering after providing false information. Mr. Brown was turned over to the Irvington Police Department. 

On August 19, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix on South Orange/White Oak Ridge for maintenance of lamps. The investigation led to the arrest of 21 year old Justin Nelson out of Hillside and 21 year old Hakeem Thomas out of Irvington on outstanding criminal Irvington warrants. Both individuals were placed under arrest and released after posting bail. 

On August 21, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Aliotta stopped a 2007 BMW 328 on South Orange/Lawrence for having tinted windows. The investigation led to the arrest of the 20 year old driver Rawn Brown Jr out of Orange on an outstanding traffic warrant out of Elmwood Park. Mr. Brown Jr was issued a summons and released with a new court date. 

On August 22, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2012 Hyundai Sonata on Old Short Hills/Andover for an inoperable headlight. The investigation led to the arrest of the 27 year old driver Raymond Harris out of Irvington for an active warrant from the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department.  Mr. Harris was turned over to the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department.

On September 5, 2017 Millburn Police Lieutenant Ronceray stopped a 2006 Ford Pickup when the owner, 50 year old John Heatter out of Lyndhurst, was found to be driving with a suspended license and for an outstanding traffic warrant out of Clifton. Mr. Heatter was placed under arrest and issued a summons for driving while suspended. Mr. Heatter was released with a new court date.
