Community Congregational Church in Short Hills is holding its annual summer Vacation Bible Camp, running August 28 through September 1, 9:00am - 2:00pm. Kids and teens are invited to attend Vacation Bible Camp, which features cooking, science, drama, games, music, and crafts activities.

This year’s Vacation Bible Camp theme is “Hero Central,” where kids go on awesome adventures alongside some of their favorite Bible heroes, and discover the qualities that make us truly heroic with God! VBC helps kids discover God’s mission for their lives as they explore ways to live out God’s love. They will encounter powerful stories about heroes from the Bible that illustrate God’s love for all of us and discover how these heroes can be meaningful role models in their lives.

“Vacation Bible Camp is a great way for kids to make new friends with similar values, to meet adults who are invested in their spiritual growth, and for parents to get their kids back into a routine before school starts,” says Rev. Jennifer Testa Hrynyk, one of the ministers at Community Congregational Church. “We’re excited to be able to provide a nurturing, educational, and of course fun environment for these kids and teens to explore their faith.”

At Hero Central, kids explore five “Hero Codes” throughout the week (Have Heart! Have Courage! Have Wisdom! Have Hope! Have Power!) that help them to be God’s heroes, while daily activities in cooking, science, drama, games, music, and crafts are combined with classic Bible stories about heroes - all to show kids how faith relates to their lives!

Children ages 3 through 5th grade may register for $50 per child. Students in 6th grade and up may participate free of charge as Teen Counselors and can receive community service hours for their participation. Parents also have the opportunity to volunteer throughout the week as they are able. For more information, and to complete the online registration, please visit www.CommunityChurch.org. Inquiries may be directed to The Rev. Jennifer Testa Hrynyk at (973) 379-5600 x13 or Jennifer@CommunityChurch.org. Community Congregational Church is located at 200 Hartshorn Drive, Short Hills, NJ 07078.
