NEW JERSEY - Uber and Mack-Cali Realty Corporation (NYSE: CLI) are announcing the expansion of their relationship to include a commuter ridesharing partnership at four commercial properties in Short Hills, NJ. Similar to a program that was announced in February at Mack-Cali’s properties in Metropark, the partnership caters to the modern office worker’s desire to live a car-free, transit-oriented lifestyle. Under the program, Mack-Cali will pay for its tenants’ Uber rides up to $10 to and from the participating office complexes during commuting hours.

This initiatives with Uber make it easier for tenants to connect with nearby transit stations, helping commuters rethink their transportation habits and furthering Mack-Cali’s commitment to providing amenities that increase convenience and promote employee health and well-being.

Tenants at the following Short Hills buildings will be eligible for the expanded commuter ride sharing program:
● 51 JFK Parkway
● 101 JFK Parkway
● 103 JFK Parkway
● 150 JFK Parkway
In Metropark, the program is active at the following locations:
● 343 Thornall Street, Edison
● 333 Thornall Street, Edison
● 101 Wood Avenue, Iselin
● 581 Main Street, Woodbridge
An Uber pickup/dropoff area with custom signage has been established at each location so riders and drivers know exactly where to meet one another. Trips covered under the program must start or end at one of the specified buildings in Short Hills or Metro Park and must take place Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6 am and 8 pm. Tenants at each building will have access to a specialized payment profile allowing them to bill the first $10 of eligible rides directly to Mack-Cali. Uber’s upfront pricing means that riders will know the cost before requesting their ride, and any overages beyond $10 will be billed automatically to the rider’s personal payment method.
This program is part of Uber’s larger national effort to promote shared mobility and accelerate the broader shift away from personal car ownership. By encouraging people to use a mix of shared options like public transit, ride sharing and cycling, cities can help reduce traffic, alleviate the demand for parking and ultimately lower carbon emissions.
