MILLBURN, NJ — In an update yesterday afternoon, Millburn Mayor Jackie Lieberberg reported on the latest case numbers for COVID-19 in town, as well as other important information.

As of yesterday's update, there are currently 132 confirmed residents with COVID-19 in Millburn Township. Essex County is reporting 16,103 residents having tested positive for COVID-19.

In the update, the mayor noted that due to a restriction in gatherings, the Township will cancel its Memorial Day parade that was scheduled for Saturday, May 23.

On the recreation front, the township is also preparing for the opening of the municipal pool, although Lieberberg noted it would in all likelihood be at least delayed.

"The Township continues to prepare and evaluate the opening of the Municipal pool," Lieberberg said. "Although no direct guidance has been given that pools will be permitted to open, the Millburn recreation department is working hard to be ready.

"We do know that at this point, the opening weekend will be delayed until after Memorial Day.  If you are interested in signing up for the pool, please do so as it will help in our decision-making. Should the pool not be able to open, refunds will be made."
