Newark, NJ - This week, the Millburn High School VEX Robotics team had yet another stop on their publicity tour.
The group went to Essex County Newark Tech, where they demonstrated their world championship-winning robot in front of Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. and Newark Tech students. The Millburn High School VEX Robotics Team were there to demonstrate first-hand the robot they built and used in order to win first place in the 2019 VEX Robotics World Championship this past April in Louisville.
In the classroom, DiVincenzo welcomed the Millburn team and presented the students with awards. He also said that it was an excellent opportunity for both groups of students to learn from each other and build off of that.
"We are all very proud of Millburn because you put us on the map," DiVincenzo said. "Two things we are very proud of are our accomplishments and our diversity. By welcoming you to Newark Tech, I want to establish relationships between our students so you can learn from each other."
This stop continues a whirlwind few months for the robotics team, who have been honored by the Board of Education, the Short Hills Association and the Millburn Township Committee since winning in April. Additionally, the group also marched in last month's town-wide Memorial Day Parade.
