MILLBURN, NJ - The Music Department of Millburn High School announces its annual Night of Jazz concert in conjunction with "Jazz Appreciation Month," sponsored by the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, the National Association for Music Education, and International Association for Jazz Education. The high school auditorium will come alive with jazz bands from both the high school level as well as the middle school on Thursday, April 27 at 7:30 pm. This concert is free, open to the public. Featured ensembles are the high school's Thursday Jazz Band and Wednesday Jazz Band, and the Middle School Jazz Band. Selections will include music by Benny Carter, Thad Jones, Gordon Goodwin, Paul McCartney, Pat Matheny, Sonny Rollins, and Charles Mingus. Night of Jazz will be professionally recorded and orders will be accepted in the lobby. In addition, orders for the high school spring concert series, as well as Music Booster membership forms, will be available.
