MILLBURN, NJ - The deadline for filing in order to run for the Millburn Board of Education (BOE) has passed, and all four candidates who entered the race will be running unopposed.
Three candidates are up for three-year terms. Sonali Ganti and Cori Haase, who are already incumbents on the BOE will each run for a term, and newcomer Jonathan Green will also join to round out the trio.
Jamie Serruto will also be running for a one-year remainder of a term that was left unexpired.
Serruto, a rising senior at Millburn High School would become the youngest person selected for the board since Millburn Senior Chase Harrison, who was 18 at the time, bested then-BOE Vice-President Rona Wenik in the 2013 election.
While all four candidates are all running unopposed, a write-in candidate can also have votes tallied in their favor on the day of the election without having to go through the petitioning process to run.
Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019
