MILLBURN, NJ — Starting today and running throughout the week, a pair of projects will take place at Municipal lot 1 and Old Short Hills Road in town.

Beginning today, approximately 25 parking spaces in Municipal Lot 1 will be blocked off for authorized work beginning. Work on lot 1 is expected to run through Thursday, May 14.

Following the start of that project, on or about Tuesday, May 12, a milling and paving project will begin on Old Short Hills Road between Essex Street and Parsonage Hill Road.

The project will begin with road milling, which according to the township is expected to last approximately three days, weather permitting. Work hours for this portion of the process are 7:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.

There will be a partial closure of Old Short Hills Road during the milling phase, with traffic permitted northbound only in the work area. Township police will be on-site directing traffic.

Once the milling phase is completed, two to three days of iron work will follow before paving begins. A full closure of the road during the paving portion should be expected.

Any updates and any changes to the paving project schedule will be shared on the Township website, social media pages and SwiftReach.
