MILLBURN, NJ - The next major step in the installation of the turf field at the Millburn Public Library will be taking place this week.

Starting on or about Tuesday, Sept. 24, Millburn will begin installation of a synthetic turf field, according to an update on the town's website. As long as the weather cooperates, the project is expected to run daily through mid-December.

With the first phase of the project getting underway, weekend work is a possibility. The township will provide advanced notice to residents in the area should weekend scheduling arise.

The first phase of the project will include temporary fencing installation, soil erosion control, demolition of the current field, soil re-location and land survey.

Phase two will consist of land grading and balancing, turf installation, curb work and fencing installation. A groundbreaking ceremony will be scheduled to officially kick off the project, and should occur sometime in October. Additional details will follow.
