MILLBURN, NJ - Got a spruce or pine tree that has lived out its usefulness this holiday season? Starting today and running through the end of the month, get rid of it in a green way with the town's recycling program.

Live Christmas tree recycling is scheduled for the month of January. Collection of trees is not based on your recycling zone, and trees may be placed at the curb any day of the week.

For proper collection please remove all bags, garland, lights, ornaments and tree stands from your tree, as well as all nails and wires used to secure the tree. If you have a tree bag around your tree, you are asked to remove it once you get to the curb and recycle it or throw it away.

All trees will be picked up and chipped by the township. Wreaths can also be dropped off at the Bulky Waste area of the Township Yard behind the DPW building.

Residents may call (973) 564-7060 if their tree is not picked up in an appropriate amount of time to schedule a pick up.
