The Short Hills Home Garden Club Presents “New Ideas from English Gardens” at 60th Anniversary Spring Benefit

Marta McDowell

On Wednesday, April 26th the Short Hills Home Garden Club will celebrate its 60th Anniversary with a Spring Benefit and Luncheon featuring “New Ideas from English Gardens” with Marta McDowell.  There will also be a special performance by the Newark Boys Chorus School. The event will be held at the Short Hills Country Club beginning at 11:00am with cocktails and tricky tray.

An avid gardener, writer and lecturer, many know Marta from her fascinating lecture on “All the President’s Gardens.” This time, she will discuss how to wake up garden beds and borders with fresh ideas from across the pond. The lecture takes a peak at design techniques and plant combinations from contemporary gardens as different as the Eden Project and the Thames Barrier Park. Guests will take inspiration from new designers at the Chelsea Flower Show as well as horticulturalist responsible for breathing new life into historic gardens like Great Dixter.
