HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Six members of a James Bond Gang-Style Burglary Crew, three of whom hail from Hackensack, have been arrested following a nine-month investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office that revealed they stole more than $450,000 worth of cash and jewelry.

From December 2019 to August 2020, Lawal Erskine, East Orange; Jihaad Holmes, of East Orange, Tyrone Jenkins of Elizabeth, and Marc Rainey, Rashad Black of Hackensack and Javon Barlow of Hackensack, participated in a series of “James Bond”-style residential burglaries throughout Bergen, Essex, Union, Somerset, Middlesex and Monmouth Counties -- all of which investigators ascertained shared the same modus operandi.

The burglar crew allegedly targeted residential homes in wealthy areas that contained pricey vehicles in cul-de-sacs that appeared dimly lit and as if the homeowners were not present. Upon covering a ring camera and forcing open the front door, the culprits removed safes, jewelry and cash from the master bedroom.
