MILLBURN, NJ - The following is the police blotter from July 9-16:

On July 9, 2019, Millburn Police Officer O’Neill responded to the Sephora store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Sephora personnel report 28-year-old Amber Taylor of Orange concealed 3 items valued at $73.00 and left the store without making payment. Ms. Taylor was placed under arrest and issued a summons before being released.

On July 9, 2019, Millburn Police Officer Barbosa approached a 2019 Hyundai Elantra on Main St after a pedestrian reported the driver was under the influence. The investigation led to the arrest of 35-year-old Fernanda Velez of Queens for driving under the influence. Ms. Velez was issued a summons and released.

On July 10, 2019, Millburn Police Officer Royce responded to headquarters on a motor vehicle theft report. The victim reports parking her 2010 Nissan Maxima on Walnut Ave and noticing it being driven away at 3:00 am. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On July 10, 2019, Millburn Police responded to residences on Mountainview Rd and Southern Slope Drive on reports of motor vehicle burglaries. Residents on Mountainview Rd report a 2016 Audi A5, 2007 Toyota Prius, and 2007 Toyota Sienna were entered and water and coupons were taken. Another resident reports a 2017 Audi Q7 was entered on Southern Slope Drive and a garage door opener was taken. Both incidents are under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On July 10, 2019, Millburn Police Officer O’Neill responded to Macy's on a theft report. Macy's personnel report 20-year-old employee Megan Carreira of North Arlington took $656.71 worth of merchandise from the store without making payment. Ms. Carreira was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting before being released on a summons.

On July 11, 2019, Millburn Police responded to CVS on a theft report. CVS personnel report 38-year-old Jesse Odom of Irvington concealed $52.32 worth of merchandise and left the store without making payment. Corinthinas McDonald, age 45 of Newark, concealed $172.36 worth of merchandise and left the store without making payment. Both individuals were placed under arrest and issued summonses before being released.

On July 12, 2019, Millburn Police Officer Wichelns responded to Macy's on a theft report. Macy's personnel report 21-year old Ray Joseph of Union concealed $399.50 worth of merchandise in a bag and left the store without making payment. Mr. Joseph was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting before being released on a summons.

On July 13, 2019, Millburn Police Officer Hunt responded to Macy's on a theft report. Macy's personnel report 24-year-old Samad Bishop of Newark concealed 9 items on his person valued at $475.50 and left the store without making payment. Mr. Bishop was charged with shoplifting and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

On July 15, 2019, Millburn Police Officer Wichelns responded to a Dorison Drive residence on a burglary report. The resident reports unknown actor/s entered her garage overnight taking her 2017 Porsche Cayenne. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On July 15, 2019, Millburn Police responded to a residence on Hillside Ave, and 2 residences on Tulip Lane on reports of burglaries to motor vehicles. The Hillside Ave resident reports his 2017 Mercedes Benz E30 was entered and a wallet containing credit cards and $100.00 cash was taken. A Tulip Lane resident reports his 2016 Hyundai Tucson was entered and a NJ license taken. Another Tulip Lane resident reports his 2017 Volvo XC9 was entered, however, nothing appears to be missing. All 3 incidents are under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

Residents are reminded to keep all vehicles locked and to report suspicious activity to the Millburn Police Department.
