Speaking with TAPinto after the meeting, McHugh simply said he was excited to get going and serve Millburn.

And for Millburn Fire Chief Robert Echavarria, the quick turnaround by the township to fill vacancies is important, as it helps keep the first responders' operations running smoothly.

"We're very fortunate at the fire department and public safety in the township," Echavarria said. "Any time we get a retirement, they always come to us, and they fulfill our needs."
