SHORT HILLS, NJ – Across New Jersey, redevelopment and investment decisions are being informed by the "Amazon Effect" and other major disruptors such as labor shortages and trade tariffs. On Thursday, January 24, 2019, a panel of industry leaders including local economic development groups and individual developers will discuss the resulting challenges and opportunities as NAIOP New Jersey hosts its Annual Meeting and Commercial Real Estate Outlook.
The first major CRE networking event of the year will be held at the Short Hills Hilton in Short Hills, N.J., and include the election of the commercial real estate development association’s 2019 officers and trustees. Registration and a networking cocktail reception begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and the program.
Panelists will also examine the evolving relationships between economic development organizations and developers in the wake of the Amazon HQ2 RFP process. In addition, Dr. Alexander Heil, Chief Economist for the Port Authority of NY & NJ, will present the CRE outlook for the region. Confirmed speakers include Michael DeMarco, Mack-Cali Realty Corporation; Aisha Glover, Newark Alliance; Mark Shearer, Rockefeller Group; and discussion leader Tim Lizura, NJPAC.
