MILLBURN, NJ - Millburn erupted for 16 goals in the first half and went on to a 19-7 girls lacrosse victory over Middletown North in the opening round of the Section 2, Group 3 state tournament on Tuesday.

Brooke Hoffman led Millburn (16-3) with four goals and four assists, and Carly Bernstein and Jordyn Lipkin each had four goals in the victory. Ally Lipkin scored three goals and paced the Millers in assists with five.

Olivia Stack, Kelsey McCarthy, Celia Mathay and Ilyse Reisman each scored one goal for Millburn, which led, 16-5, at halftime. Jenna Levy made seven saves in the victory.

The game was halted with less than seven minutes remaining because of lightning.
