MILLBURN, NJ - On a night they honored their seniors, the Millburn Boys Soccer team made sure the soon-to-be departing team members got their absolute fill of playtime.

The Millers faced off against Columbia High School in an instant classic of a win, delivering the goods in the 93rd minute when center defensive midfielder Jason Mazer planted the ball squarely in the back of the net to deliver Millburn a 1-0 win over their nearby rivals.

"It feels pretty great," Mazer said, breaking down the victory. "We were just playing. It was coming throughout the second half and into overtime. We knew we were gonna get a chance and we just had to keep shooting, keep playing as a team and luckily I got to score. it was great."

Columbia exerted some prssure early, but Millburn turned the tide and momentum, pushing up the field again and again to launch shots on net. Eventually Mazer connected on one to end the game.

"We were a little slow coming out of the first half," he said. "But when we started in the second half and the overtime, we just kept passing it. Playing it on the outside...passing through our team and we got the win."

And as Millburn heads down the stretch toward the county and conference playoffs and beyond, Mazer said the team just needs to do what they've been doing to find sucess.

"Just keep going," he said. "Just keep playing, working hard at practice. keep bringing the same intensity to every single game, no matter who we're playing and we just gotta keep going late into November."

Millburn returns to the pitch in another home match on Sept. 23 against Glen Ridge. Kickoff time is 4:00 p.m.
