MILLBURN, NJ - Facing off against Montclair Kimberly Academy, the Millburn Field Hockey team knew they would need a quick start for the win. Meaghan Boehm made sure of that.

Boehm scored four times in the first half (six times in total) as Millburn was never challenged, winning 9-1. Mimi Wolk scored twice and Dani Samuelson also scored once to complete the score sheet.

Speaking after the game, Boehm said that victory was the only thing on the mind of the team during the game.

"Coming into this game, we definitely wanted to win," Boehm said. "After the last game encounter we had with them. We decided that we would need to keep our composure, have strong passes and work together well as a team...I think we definitely did that, and we did so much better."

As for her offensive explosion, Boehm said that most of the credit should go to the play of her teammates, who set her up in a position to score.

“I couldn't do that by myself honestly,” she added. “Everyone worked hard to get every single goal. It was everyone who made it, not just me or anyone else.”

The field hockey team take the field next on Monday, Oct. 7 against Montclair High School. First face off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
