MILLBURN, NJ — Millburn Field Hockey just keeps winning. The girls beat Scotch Plains-Fanwood in overtime with a dramatic goal to continue to improve their record.
Millburn won in overtime 2-1. Scotch Plains would score the only goal of the first half, but Miriam Wolk would even things off in the second half off an assist by Olivia Regan.
In the overtime period, Meaghan Boehm would score the game-winner off an assist by Dani Samuelson.
Speaking about the game, Millburn Head Coach Sarah Pallino said the win was historic for her team.
"We had 26 offensive corners and about the same amount of shots, but failed to capitalize on them," Pallino said. "We had some great opportunities and fortunately the game went in our favor. This was the first overtime game we have won in over 4 years which is a great accomplishment.
Millburn returns to the field today at 10:00 a.m. at West Essex in the semi-finals of the Essex County Tournament.
