MILLBURN, NJ - Earlier this year, Carmen Guarino, a beloved former Millburn Football coach, passed away from cancer. Now, a group of Millburn Football alumni and boosters are coming together to celebrate his life, while doing a bit of good at the same time.

The group plans to hold a flag football tournament on the turf field at Millburn High School on Nov. 29. They have dubbed it the Carmen Guarino Classic, with all proceeds from the game going to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Steven Montuoro, a 2013 graduate of Millburn said in an email to TAPinto that he and several others who played under Guarino were looking to start the tournament to honor his memory by doing the one thing he would have loved; playing football.

The group will be joined in their efforts by the Fifth Quarter Club, which is helping to co-sponsor the event. The cost to register for the event is $25 dollars per person. According to Montuoro, the group has already raised $1,900 dollars on their fundraising page.
