MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Fresh off an offensive outburst against West Essex, Millburn ice Hockey recorded its second straight win by a 2-0 margin against Madison.
The Stewart brothers were the only two players to tally a marker in the entire game, as Ronan struck first just 3:08 into the opening frame, and his brother Duncan tallied an insurance marker for the Millers just over four minutes left in the second.
Eli Nadell turned aside all 21 shots he faced in the contest. The Millburn defense also held Madison to single-digit shot attempts in all three periods.
Millburn head coach Brandon Doria spoke briefly about the game and its impact on the team's fortunes.
"We played a very good [Madison] team with a very strong goalie," Doria said. "We needed to capitalize on any chances we had and play strong defense. We played a solid team game and this allowed us to have some success. This will be important to finish off the season strong."
Millburn will take the ice next against Scotch Plains/Fanwood on Feb. 3 at Codey Arena. Puck Drop is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
