MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn Recreation Department hosted its 2016-2017 in-town girls basketball championships on Wednesday March 1.

In the first game, Mazie Solarz-Patel led both teams with 6 points to guide the Mercury to a 15-9 4th grade girls championship win over the Liberty. The Liberty were led by Emma Woros who finished with 5 points.

The Gators took the 5th-6th grade girls championship with a 16-7 win over the Hawkeyes. Hilary Adelman's 8 points for the Gators led both teams. Elizabeth Maurer's 4 points led the Hawkeyes in the loss.

In the final game of the night, the Silverstars won the 7th-8th girls championship with a 15-6 win over the Lynx. Bridget McGrath's 7 points led both teams - scoring 5 of those points for the Silverstars in the 4th quarter. The Lynx were led by Alexa Belcuore's 4 points in the loss.
