MILLBURN, NJ - Congrats to the Millburn Recreation In-Town Basketball Champions of the 2018-2019 season!

4th Grade Boys: Clippers defeated the Jazz 39-23 led by Chace Redler’s 28 points. Drew Rothman had 14 points for the Jazz.

4th Grade Girls: Comets defeated the Fire 16-6 as Sophia Van Roon scored 8 for the Comets.

5th Grade Boys: Bulls captured the championship in a close fought 24-22 win over the Bucks. Kayden Akwaboah led the Bulls with 11 points while Nathan Scheck scored 10 including 2 3-pointers. The Bucks were led by Jesse Bosselman and Chase Plotkin who scored 8 points each.

5th-6th Grade Girls: The 7th seeded Tar Heels upset the top seeded Gators to take the championship with a 10-4 win.  The Tar Heels were led by Anna Speckhart who scored 7 points in the win.

6th Grade Boys: The Sixers defeated the Trailblazers 17-13 in a close game that was tied going into the 4th quarter. Greg Rosenthal led the Sixers with 8 points and Will Phillips led the Trailblazers with 6 points.

7th-8th Grade Boys: The 13-seeded Hoyas finished their remarkable playoff run with a 30-27 win over the 2nd-seeded Red Storm. James Bergman hit a 3-pointer with less than 3 seconds left in the game to win the championship for the Hoyas who were down 24-14 going into the final quarter. Bergman finished with a game high 20 points.  Brian Landreman led the Red Storm with 16 points in the loss.

7th-8th Grade Girls: The Dream defeated the Sun 16-8 to win the championship behind Alexandra Wiggin’s game high 8 points. With the game tied at 4 going into halftime, the Dream outscored the Sun 12-4 in the second half to win the game.
