EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ --- If you're up for a good scare and have already had your fill of red balloons coming out of sewer grates, maybe it's time to trade up to the annual Haunted House and Haunted Hayride that float in the mist on Cranbury Road around this time of year.  We all float down here.

Join the 4-H teens every Friday and Saturday evening in October from 7 to 10:30 p.m. at the 4-H Center, located at 645 Cranbury Rd. in East Brunswick.

Admission is $5 for each activity or $8 for both activities. The proceeds will go to fund 4-H’s next big event, Project GIFT. Project GIFT is a charitable holiday shopping event that takes place in December. Proceeds from the Halloween events enable the 4-H teens to buy presents and supplies needed for Project GIFT. At this year’s event, 4-H will host 200 limited-resource families, who can choose from the presents and “shop” for gifts for their children at no cost to themselves.

“This event is a yearly favorite with our residents and with the 4-H Teen Council, who continue to put exceptional planning and work into the project,” said Freeholder Kenneth Armwood, Chair of the Business Development and Education Committee. “For those who enjoy the scary side of Halloween, this is a great way to celebrate and to give back to others by contributing to Project GIFT.”

“The 4-H Teen Council always strives to make every holiday a chance to give back, and that’s a great example for County residents of all ages to follow,” said Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios. “I hope many residents will attend and enjoy the event. By doing so, they will help other families to celebrate later on with the help of Project GIFT.”

Along with the Haunted House and Hayride there will be less spooky activities for younger guests, such as pumpkin decorating and remote control car demonstrations. The 4-H Tiki Hut will also be open for snacks and Halloween treats.

For directions to the Haunted House and the 4-H Center, visit the County website at www.middlesexcountynj.gov and search “4H”
