EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Arthur Street is once again a location of concern in East Brunswick. Just before 9 am on Tuesday, January 16, East Brunswick police patrol units responded to a report of a "suspicious person" attempting to talk to a 13-year-old female. According to an official report issued today, the Police Department was made aware of an aggravated assault that also occurred on Arthur Street early Monday at approximately 12:30 a.m. The victim, an East Brunswick resident, responded to the hospital with minor lacerations to his hand. 

The victim reported that he had taken a taxi home after work at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. He exited the taxi and began to walk toward his house when he was approached from behind by an unknown assailant. The suspect grabbed the victim and brandished a knife. The victim grabbed the knife and began to struggle with the suspect. The victim pushed the suspect away and they both fell to the ground. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction, according to police.

The suspect was described as a medium-skinned male, approximately 5-foot-7 and medium build. He was wearing a black ski mask, black pants and a dark-colored jacket.
