EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ -  A local driver had a very bad day this week when he fell asleep at the wheel at a red light at the intersection of Harts Lane and Tices Lane. 

On May 10, 2016 at approximately 11:00 PM Ptl. Daniel Werner initiated a motor vehicle stop on Harts Lane near Tices Lane. The driver, Mark Windsor a 27-year-old male from East Brunswick, had fallen asleep while stopped at the traffic signal.  During the motor vehicle stop Ptl. Werner detected the odor of raw marijuana emanating from the vehicle and subsequently conducted a search of the vehicle.  During the search Ptl. Werner located over 50 grams of Marijuana, Alprazolam and Oxycodone pills and materials commonly used to package narcotics.  The driver was also found to be under the influence of narcotics, says a police report issued today. 

Multple charges resulted from the traffic stop.  Windsor was charged with driving while intoxicated, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana over 50 grams, possession of controlled dangerous substances, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and controlled dangerous substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and motor vehicle summonses.  Windsor was processed and transported to the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in lieu of $10,000 bail.
