SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Mary Beth Barnosky continued her tear on the court this season as the Spotswood High School girls varsity basketball team defeated Iselin Kennedy, 60-24. By halftime, the Chargers held a commanding 28-11 lead. They kept the dominance up in the second half, outscoring the Mustangs, 32-13.
Barnosky has been a consistent point-getter for Spotswood since the start of the season. She finished the game with 20 points, 10 steals, two assists and one rebound. Lizzie Vignuolo netted 12 points in the victory. Erin Malin and Courtney Potter both scored six points. Grace Mehr added five while Sarah Marotta scored four. Senior Jessica Meagher scored three and Caitlyn LeRoy and Olivia Hellerich both chipped in two points.
Elizabeth Jimenez was the top scorer for Iselin Kennedy, netting eight.
The win moves the Chargers overall record to 4-3. Their first two losses of the season came over winter break in tournament play. They remain undefeated in conference play with a 2-0 record.
The Chargers will look to continue their dominant play against Middlesex with a 6 p.m. away game on Friday, January 8.
