SPRING LAKE, NJ - It has been a hot week in New Jersey and if area residents are searching for an inexpensive way to spend a cool evening, how about a movie on the beach? The price certainly cannot be beat. The movies are free at the North End Pavilion on the beach in Spring Lake, New Jersey.

The event is sponsored by Shore Flicks and are held every Wednesday evening in July and August. Showtime begins at dusk and movie goers are asked to bring canned goods to benefit a weekly food drive.

Parking is free in Spring Lake and there are some great spots on Third Avenue to enjoy an after movie ice cream.

The July 22 showing is the classic the "Princess Bride" starring Robin Wright, Cary Elwes and a young Fred Savage. The Rob Reiner film holds a spot on several top movie lists.
