SPOTSWOOD, NJ - In keeping with theater's theme of "the show must go on," the curtain will rise as planned on the March 8 opening night performance of the Disney musical, "Beauty And The Beast" at 6:30 p.m. at the Spotswood High School Cafetorium.
Mother Nature's nor'easter has been creating havoc in the borough, forcing the Spotswood School District to close school on March 7 and March 8. Wednesday's dress rehearsal and annual senior citizen performance was canceled due to the storm.
The actors and stage crew were alerted of this evening's performance via a group text set up by the show's director Annie Raczko. Raczko texted, "The show is on!" along with the arrival information for actors and stage crew. The Spotswood School District also sent out an email blast stating that borough and school officials have agreed that the roads are safe for travel thanks to the warmer temperatures today and the work of the Spotswood Department of Public Works and the Spotswood School District's grounds crew.
Tickets for tonight's performance are available at the door. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students. Doors open for the audience at 6 p.m. People who already ordered tickets for tonight's performance online, can pick them up at Will Call upon arrival.
The Spotswood High School Cafetorium is located at 105 Summerhill Road.
