FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ – A 64-year-old Belle Mead doctor was arrested after a patient told police he had sexually assaulted her at his office in Franklin Township, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.
Dr. Chike J. Aguh of Mulberry Court, Belle Mead, is charged with 2nd degree Sexual Assault and 4th degree Sexual Contact. He is being held at the Somerset County Jail in Somerville pending a detention hearing, Robertson said.
According to Robertson, the victim reported to Franklin Township Police that she was sexually assaulted by Aguh on Jan. 12 while attending a medical appointment at his practice in Franklin Township located at 605 Franklin Blvd in the Somerset section.
The victim was interviewed by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes Unit and Franklin Township Police Department. As a result of their investigation Aguh was arrested and charged on Jan.13 at the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office without incident.
