PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Two men have been arrested and charged with illegally disposing of a corpse in Piscataway according to an announcement on Thursday from Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Piscataway Police Captain Scott Cartmell.

Scott Maynor, 33, and Edward Guy, 35, both of Bound Brook, were arrested and charged on Tuesday after the remains of Nicholas Phelan, 27, of Edison were found on Feb. 14 by a passerby in a wooded area off of River Road.

The charges were filed after the investigation determined the defendants and the victim were in Bound Brook when Phelan died.

Following Phelan’s death, Maynor and Guy moved the victim to the wooded area where he was later discovered.

The cause of death has yet to be determined pending the results of toxicological testing.

Bail has been set at $75,000 for each of the defendants.
