Leading Women Entrepreneurs and Business Owners is proud to announce its annual Celebrating The Unstoppable Top 25 Recognition Event at the Liberty House in Jersey City on Monday, November 14th, from 6pm to 9pm. Unlike any other, this event was created not just to showcase  women who have taken their businesses to incredible and awe-inspiring levels, but to celebrate their wins, their mistakes that led to wins, and their unstoppable drive to continue on, no matter what challenges were thrown their way.

These women all started with an idea. An idea that grew out of passion and drive. Sara Blakely, self-made billionaire and founder of Spanx, had that drive when she was a door-to-door fax salesperson. She was 29 when she took $5000 out of her savings account to create Spanx. Now she's a household name and an inspiration to millions of women everywhere.

Blakely said of her business journey, "It's important to be willing to make mistakes. The worst thing that can happen is you become memorable."

These 25 Entrepreneurs and Intrapreneurs are memorable, and will continue to be as they stitch their stories of triumph into the fabric of the communities around them. Recognizing their accomplishments and accolades with the acknowledgment they deserve is both empowering and inspiring for women in business at every level.

To help celebrate this year's honorees, Sallie Krawcheck, CEO and Co-Founder of Ellevest and Chair of Ellevate Network, will be the event's keynote speaker. Krawcheck has accolades as a senior corporate executive, a research analyst, and now a successful entrepreneur.

The Celebrating The Unstoppable Top 25 Recognition Event is the ideal opportunity to network with some of the most powerful and influential people in the greater New York area. Our honorees have spent years creating relationships and connections with change makers and larger businesses that have helped them grow their own businesses. This, coupled with the women of the LWE initiative, allows for a networking opportunity unlike any other. Discover who is who at this one-of-a-kind event.

Doors open at 5:00 pm for VIP ticket holders and honorees, 6pm with hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and gourmet food. The program will begin at 7:30 pm with welcoming remarks, featured speakers and the recognition ceremony honoring the 2016 Entrepreneurs and Intrapreneurs. The Truth About My Reading

The Truth About My Reading

I didn't get my Composition and Literature teacher at Montclair State College at all. A crusty old man with a dour disposition, Mr. Smith always seemed angry and rude. He appropriately intimidated freshmen, even me, an English major, who found this common core course beneath my dignity. Frankly, as a graduate of Highland Park High School, and a survivor of Mrs.

The German Girl

The German Girl by Armando Lucas Correa (Washington Square Press, 2016)

For each of the twelve million victims murdered during World War II there is a gutwrenching story to be told. I have read hundreds of memoirs, biographies, plays, and novels that recount the stories of the martyrs; some are exceptional, some are fair.
