EDISON, NJ - After a 1-1 tie to end the first half, the Spotswood High School boys varsity soccer team netted three goals in ten minutes to give the Chargers a decisive hold on the game, giving them a 6-2 victory over Bishop Ahr High School. Sophomore Chris Moran scored a hat trick in the win and also had one assit.
Senior Andrew Oross added two goals and two assists. Oross is tenth in the state in goal scoring with 23. Shadrach Asadu of Atlantic City High School leads the state in goals with 31.
Sophomore Yanni Hatzistefanis had one goal and one assist for Spotswood while Andrew Bishara notched an assist.
Senior Matt Evanego made seven saves for the Chargers on 11 shots while John Loftus made seven saves on 13 shots for the Trojans.
John Dallaganese, Nico Tirri and Tomas Aquino-Santo all scored goals for Bishop Ahr.
The win against the Trojans was the sixth in a row for the Greater Middlesex Conference Blue Division champs. The Chargers are currently third in the Blue Division behind Highland Park and Metuchen High Schools with an 8-4 conference record. They are 11-5 in overall play.
The Chargers will travel to North Brunswick High School on Monday, October 16 for a 4 p.m. game against the Raiders.
