COHM School Supply Drive To Benefit Local Students

SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Communities of Hope Ministry will be holding their sixth annual School Supply Drive during the month of August to assist area families that are unable to afford the added back-to-school expense.

The drive will run through August 25. Donations can be dropped off at the Spotswood ShopRite on Summerhill Road. A large yellow donation box is located at near the store exit jus as shoppers are leaving the cashier area.

Contributions may also be brought to the Saint Peter's Church. The church is located at 505 Main Street in Spotswood. Donations can be dropped off Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. or they may be placed on the porch at any time.

Suggested donation items include:

  • pencils
  • crayons
  • markers
  • spiral notebooks
  • folders
  • binders
  • pens
  • scissors
  • rulers
  • loose leaf paper
  • marble notebooks
  • colored pencils
  • erasers

The drive is also greatly in need of new or gently used backpacks.

All of the donations will be distributed among local families in need, including many within the Spotswood School District.
