Cazenovia College Equestrian team (CCET) members Gabrielle Baker, Savannah Mannes, and Erica Ferreira represented the Student Rider Nations Cup (SRNC) from Oct. 20-22 in Bern, Switzerland.

The Wildcats trio and Team USA captured the Silver Medal in Show Jumping while finishing 13th in Dressage. Their efforts gave Team USA a seventh place finish overall.

Individually Wildcats junior Baker, an Equine Business Management student from Baldwinsville, N.Y. finished third in Show Jumping and 12th overall. Senior Mannes, a Sport Management student from Bloomfield Hills, Mich. finished between 7 and 12th in Show Jumping.

Sophomore Erica Ferreira is a student in the Equine Business Management program from Sag Harbor, N.Y. She missed making the second round by 0.375 seconds.

"It's very different than regular intercollegiate riding competitions," said Cazenovia College Head Equestrian Coach Amy Sherrick-von Schiller. "They worked hard to get there, each taking extra lessons in the weeks leading up to the competition. They represented the College very well, way to go Team USA!"
 
Fourteen countries competed for the Student Rider Nations Cup in Switzerland including entries from Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States, and the host country of Switzerland.

In National Collegiate Equestrian Association action:

Junior captain Emma Mandarino, of Bedminster, N.J., rode to an 82-80 win in equitation over fences to help  No. 1 Georgia score a 12-6 victory over the sixth-ranked Horned Frogs of TCU on Oct. 20.

Kara Kaufmann, of  Belvidere, N.J. won her horsemanship class to help the No. 3 Auburn equestrian defeat No. 7 Baylor, 15-4, at the Auburn University Equestrian Center.

Madison Day, of Brick, N.J., and Brittney Mirkov, of Sparta, N.J., are riding for Baylor.

Intercollegiate Horse Show Association

Centenary College hosted an Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) show on Oct. 21.

Centenary finished the day as high point team while winning at least one division of every class.

Shelby Keefe won two classes for Centenary, open fences and on the flat.

Skylar Laakso won her open fences class and was second in the flat.

Other blue ribbon winners were:

Mikey Andrade, open flat; Abby Alexander and Matt Drohan, Intermediate Fences; Andrew Pryslak, Intermediate Flat: Stephanie Presuto and Coby Hildebrant, Novice Fences; Nicole Arnold, Daniella Peter Paul-Loor and Samantha Terry, Novice Flat; Lauren Bradshaw, Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter; Abigail Stanton, Walk/Trot.

Intercollegiate Dressage Association

On Oct. 21, the Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) team traveled from Hackettstown, N.J. to Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, N.Y. for Intercollegiate Dressage competition.

Riders compete on the host school’s horses, which are assigned randomly.  The Centenary team consisting of Mallory Chambers, Hannah Walker, Mary Finnegan, and Lexy DelVecchio, ended the day as Overall Team Champions.

Caroline McConnell won the first level class and was the Highpoint Rider of the day.

Chambers was third in the first level class while Finnegan was second in Lower Training level.

DelVecchio was second in Introductory with fellow Cyclone, Sean Rafferty was fifth.
