EDISON, NJ - Eric Dadika scored his 1,000th career point yesterday as the Spotswood High School boys varsity basketball team lost 63-55 to Bishop Ahr. The Chargers were down 22-18 at the halftime break and rallied in the second half, outscoring the Trojans 37-31. However, the surge wouldn't be enough to grab the win.
Dadika's milestone came on a night where the senior standout scored 19 points in the Chargers' loss. Teammate and fellow senior, Marlon Hart, netted 17. Hart earned his 1,000th career point last week against South River.
Juniors JT Vento and Andrew Fuzesi both contributed six points for Spotswood. Justin Dekovics earned three while Vinnie Guardiola and Abdullah Nieskens both chipped in two.
Bishop Ahr's Sean Kudelka earned a double double with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Alex Santiago netted 13 for the Trojans.
Dadika has been a consistent point-getter for Spotswood all season long, averaging 21 points a game. Currently, he is ranked thirty-first in points in the state for the 2015-16 season with 402. In 93 games as a Charger, Dadika has 192 field goals, 115 three-pointers, 73 steals, 165 assists and 166 rebounds in addition to his 1,001 point total.
