EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - If you are looking for a good scare this Halloween season, the 4-H Teen Council in Middlesex County would like to invite you to its Haunted House and Haunted Hayride fundraiser. Join the 4-H teens every Friday and Saturday evening in October (except Oct. 31), from 7 to 11 p.m. at the 4-H Center, 645 Cranbury Road in East Brunswick.

There is a $5 admission fee for each activity or $8 for both activities. The proceeds will go to fund 4-H’s next big event, Project GIFT. Project GIFT is a charitable holiday shopping event that takes place in December. Proceeds from the Halloween events enable the 4-H teens to buy presents and supplies needed for Project GIFT. At this year’s event, 4-H will host 200 limited-resource families, who can choose from the presents and “shop” for gifts for their children at no cost.

“This event is a favorite with the 4-H Teen Council. They enjoy planning the event and our residents have come to look forward to it as well,” said Freeholder Kenneth Armwood, Chair of the Business Development and Education Committee. “For those who enjoy the scary side of Halloween, this is a great way to celebrate and to give back to others by contributing to Project GIFT.”

“Events like this prove that the 4-H Teen Council realizes that doing good can become part of every holiday,” said Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios. “I hope many residents will attend and enjoy the event. By doing so, they will help other families to celebrate later on with the help of Project GIFT.”

Along with the Haunted House and Hayride there will be less-spooky activities for younger guests, such as pumpkin decorating and remote control car demonstrations. The 4-H Tiki Hut will also be open for snacks and Halloween treats.

For directions to the Haunted House and the 4-H Center, check the County website at www.co.middlesex.nj.us and use search word “4-H”.

4-H offers educational programs to all youth, grades K through 13 on an age-appropriate basis, without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
