EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ -  The East Brunswick Police Department once again interupted an illegal drug exchange in a parking lot in the township.  the original encounter led to a car chase on the Old Bridge Turnpike, culminating in an additional arrest.

On 07/28/16 at approximately 6:25pm, members of the East Brunswick Police Anti-Crime Unit stepped out with a female in the Brunswick Square Mall parking lot after observing a hand-to-hand drug transaction between the female and a male, who was seated in a motor vehicle.

The female, Judith Spear of Old Bridge, NJ, was taken into custody for Possession of Heroin after she walked away from the motor vehicle. The male, later identified as Shabazz Muhammad of Somerset, NJ, fled the scene in a white 2005 Acura after being approached by members of the Anti-Crime Unit.

John Sisolak observed the 2005 white Acura and Muhammad, who was now out of the vehicle on foot, near Brick Plant Road.  The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Retro Review: Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo (Citadel Press, 1970)

How does a reviewer do justice to a book called “the great American novel”? I first read Johnny Got His Gun during the Viet Nam war, when young people, nationwide, were protesting fighting in a war that was a senseless waste of life; a war in which the United States had no business participating.
