SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Spotswood's Erin Thuring netted the hat trick for the Chargers on Friday, September 23 as she helped pace the Spotswood High School girls varsity soccer team to a 5-2 victory over John F. Kennedy Memorial High School. The senior also had an assist in the win in addition to her three goals. Sophomore Amber Meagher scored the other two goals for Spotswood. The win moved the Chargers' overall record on the season to 5-2. Kaylee Leonard, Danielle Wittig, Miranda Wells and Carolina Fernandez all notched assists. Goalkeeper Lizzie Vignuolo made four saves for the Chargers.

Her counterpart, Jaylin Cabrera, had a busy afternoon between the pipes for John F. Kennedy, making 15 saves. Elizabeth Kilmek and Destiny Hill were the goal scorers for the Mustangs while Anastasia Moniello earned as assist.

Spotswood had a 4-1 lead by the halftime break. Both teams added a goal each in the second half. The Chargers will play a 4 p.m. home game against South Plainfield High School on Wednesday, September 28 at the Spotswood High School Varsity Soccer Fields.
