MILLTOWN, NJ - Former Milltown Fire Chief Raymond F. Jolly, Sr. passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on Feb. 4. He was 70 years old.
Born in Goldsboro, N.C., he has been a resident of Milltown since 1968. Jolly was a Master Plumber, and owner of Jolly & Son Plumbing in Milltown for 35 years. He joined the Milltown Fire Department in 1974, and served as Department Chief from 1988 to 1989. He was a member of the Milltown Fire Dept. Exempt Association.
Jolly had been a race car mechanic with Johnny Norcia racing, Car 81. He enjoyed trips to Disney, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and expressing his philosophical views of life. Predeceased by a sister, the late Margaret Sian, he is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Helen (Nee: Bryson); three daughters and sons-in-law, Rhoda & Chuck Lowe of Milltown, Rhonda & Steven Emmert of Ohio and Rachael & CJ Peebles of Hemet, CA, and his son and daughter-in-law, Raymond, Jr. and Janet Jolly of Milltown. Also survived by two brothers, Daniel & his wife Barbara Jolly of Monroe and Abraham L. Jolly of Florida. Also survived by nine grandchildren, Christina, Matthew, Steven, Caitlyn, Dustin, Jacob, Austin, Hannah and Jeremy and family dog Toodles.
