NEW JERSEY - The New Jersey Department of Fish and Wildlife offers two free fishing days each year. Saturday, June 6 is one of those days for 2020. October 17 is the other. Saturday's Free Fishing Day coincides with National Fishing and Boating Week. The NJDFW offers the two free fishing days each year as a way to let families enjoy a no-risk day on the water trying out something new. It is also a way for people new to fishing to give the sport a try without paying for a license. In the Garden State, anyone over the age of 16 must have a license to fish expect for the two free fishing days each year.
