EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Matteo Tavella scored two goals and notched one assist as the Spotswood High School boys varsity soccer team shutout East Brunswick Tech, 4-0. The Chargers opened up the scoring in the first half and then netted three second half goals to improve their overall season record to 8-2. They are 7-2 in conference play.

Nick Moran and Andrew Oross each scored a goal in the Chargers' victory. Freshman Chris Moran and senior Nick Evanego also had assists for Spotswood. Junior Matt Evanego made five saves to shut out the Tigers. EB Tech's Troy Bello made six saves.

The Chargers will take on Middlesex High School on Wednesday, Oct. 5 in a 4 p.m. home game at the Spotswood High School Varsity Soccer Field.
