SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The transition from elementary school to middle school can often times be more anxiety filled for students and parents than the switch to high school. In order to make the change smoother for both perspective middle schoolers and their parents, the Memorial Middle School will be holding their Parent Orientation on Monday, June 4 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. While the program is parent-oriented, sixth graders may attend, but they must stay with their parent or guardian at all times.

The first part of the evening will begin with an overview of the extracurricular activities offered at Memorial. Parents and guardians may explore the different offerings by meeting advisors and/or student leaders. They will have an opportunity to ask questions as well as sign interested sixth graders up for the fall. Afterward, the orientation will include a complete overview of the Memorial Middle School that will incorporate all aspects of student  and academic life.

Incoming sixth graders will visit the Memorial Middle School during the school day on June 4 from 8:15 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. along with their fifth grade teachers. There will also be a student orientation in August for Memorials's new class of sixth graders
