MIDDLESEX COUNTY – September 26 is National Voter Registration Day. The Middlesex County Board of Elections would like to encourage all residents who have not already done so to register to vote in the upcoming General Election.
“Middlesex County’s Board of Elections aims for all County residents to vote safely and securely for the candidate of their choice,” said James Vokral, administrator of the Middlesex County Board of Elections. “We encourage you to check your records to ensure that you are registered in time for this November’s election.”
The deadline to register for the November 8 election is October 18.
“It is every American’s right to vote,” said Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios. “Please make sure that you are able to exercise that right by registering or updating your voter information.”
To check or update your voting information go to http://nj.gov/state/elections/index.html. Once on the Elections website, click on the icon “AM I REGISTERED” in the center of the page and follow the prompts to verify your information. If you cannot find your record or if it is incorrect, you will need to complete a new registration form and send it in to have your record updated. The registration application is available on the same website.
County registration forms are available online at http://nj.gov/state/elections/voting-information.html; from the Middlesex County Board of Elections at 11 Kennedy Blvd., East Brunswick 08816; or from your local Municipal Clerk’s office. All forms are pre-addressed and postage paid. After completing the form and signing it, you can fold it in three (with the address on the outside) and drop it in the mail.
The Board of Elections’ normal operating hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays. The Board will be open until 9 p.m. on October 18(registration deadline for the November 8 election) to accommodate registrants.
