MILLTOWN, NJ – The Milltown Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Scavenger Hunt on Friday, Nov. 29, and Saturday, Nov. 30, as part of Small Business Weekend.
“The goal of the scavenger hunt is to have fun while reminding Milltown and area residents about the importance of supporting their neighborhood small businesses, which are vital to our local economy,” said Tim McGowan, Scavenger Hunt organizer, owner of Sales and Technology Consulting, and member of the Milltown Chamber of Commerce. “It’s also a way to bring people into local stores where people can get the answers to scavenger hunt questions. For virtual companies, the answers to their scavenger hunt questions will be on their websites. ”
“We are very excited about the response so far. Lots of residents have been signing up early for an advance copy of the Scavenger Hunt question sheet. Also, the event has attracted new members to the Milltown Chamber of Commerce,” said McGowan. He added that there is no purchase necessary to participate; safety is a priority, so
no points will be given for completing for the scavenger hunt form quickly.
People interested in participating can sign up early by scanning a special QR Code with their smart phones or by emailing email@example.com. Those who sign up early will receive a copy of the Scavenger Hunt Question Sheet on Wednesday, Nov. 27. All others can get their Scavenger Hunt Question Sheets by coming to a Kickoff Event, refreshments sponsored by Ice Cream Depot, on Friday, Nov. 29, at 9 a.m. at the Milltown Senior Center (Violet Terrace).
Participants will have two days to visit Milltown businesses and get the answers to the scavenger hunt questions. Completed forms can be handed in between 1 and 3 pm at Crabiel Home For Funerals (Main Street), which is sponsoring the Prize Award Event at 4 pm. Winners must be present to receive their prizes.
