MILLTOWN, NJ - With 2016 ending in a few days and January and 2017 just around the corner, it won't be long before the winter doldrums set in. However, the public library is often a great spot to keep the winter blues away. The Milltown Public Library offers year-round, free programs for both kids and adults.
On Mondays, the library has two story time programs available. Toddlers Story Time meets at 10:45 a.m. and is for youngsters ages two through four. Toddlers+ Story Time meets at 11:30 a.m. and is for children ages three through five. A parent or caregiver needs to attend the Toddlers and Toddlers+ session with the child.
On Wednesdays, a Lapsit Story Time for children under two meets at 10:45 a.m. There is an All Ages Story Time at 11:30 a.m. A parent or caregiver needs to attend these sessions with the child as well. All ages are also welcome to attend the library's After School Crafts program.
For adults looking to meet new people and try something different. The Milltown Library offers Bridge, Knitting and Quilting Clubs. All three clubs are always open to new members and meet weekly at the public library.
The Bridge Club meets on Friday afternoons from 12:45 p.m. until 5 p.m in the library's public meeting room. Bridge instruction is provided for novice players. The Knitting Club gets together on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. while the Quilting Club meets on Monday evenings from 6 p.m until 8 p.m.
The Milltown Public Library is located at 20 W. Church Street.
