MILLTOWN, NJ - The March 20 Milltown Borough Council meeting began with smiles and handshakes as the Milltown Police Department promoted four of their officers in a special ceremony. The festivities led off the council's agenda as Brian Knelle, William Fama, Luis F. Maldonado and James Mioduszewski were sworn in. With family members standing alongside, Knelle was promoted to Chief of Police for the Milltown Police Department while Fama, Maldonado and Mioduszewski were all elevated to the rank of Sergeant. Fama, Maldonado and Mioduszewski were already serving as sergeants in a provisional status prior to being officially sworn in at Monday's council meeting.

"The Milltown Police Department is dedicated to serving our community using best practices and standards," the department wrote on the Milltown Police Department's Facebook page. "Our staff is always here, where we are committed to working together for a safer Milltown!"
