MILLTOWN, NJ - The Milltown Police Department will be joining the more than 9,000 communities across the nation on Tuesday, August 1 for National Night Out 2017. The festivities will be held at the American Legion on 4 JF Kennedy Drive from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

National Night Out began in 1984 with only 400 police departments organizing the community-wide event that is designed to unify officers and residents in the fight against crime. It also serves to improve the relationship between police officers and the people who live in the communities they serve. Typically, the events include safety demonstrations as well as visits from local fire departments and emergency medical services among other fun, family-friendly activities.
